The Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is a high-altitude Himalayan trek that takes you through some of the most beautiful alpine lakes, meadows, forests and mountain valleys of Kashmir. The route features spectacular lakes such as Vishansar, Kishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, Gangbal and Nundkol.

The trek is generally considered Moderate to Difficult. It involves long trekking days, significant altitude gain and loss, steep sections, mountain passes and variable weather. A reasonable level of physical fitness is recommended.

The primary trekking season is generally July to September, when the Kashmir alpine meadows are green and the high-altitude lakes are accessible. Exact trekking dates depend on weather, trail conditions and local regulations.

The trek reaches approximately 13,750 feet, depending on the exact route and pass covered. Proper acclimatization and pacing are important because of the high altitude.

This package is planned for 7 Days / 6 Nights, including arrival/departure arrangements and trekking sections. The actual trekking distance is approximately 70–75 km, although the exact distance can vary depending on the route and operational conditions.

Previous high-altitude trekking experience is helpful but not always mandatory for physically fit trekkers. However, participants should be comfortable walking for several hours a day on uneven and mountainous terrain.

Essential items include good-quality high-ankle trekking shoes, warm clothing, waterproof layers, trekking pants, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, a headlamp, water bottles, trekking poles, personal medicines, a backpack and other basic trekking equipment.

The trek can be undertaken safely with proper preparation, experienced trekking support, suitable equipment and adherence to safety instructions. However, Himalayan weather and high-altitude conditions can change rapidly. Trekkers should always follow the trek leader's instructions and immediately report symptoms of altitude sickness or any other health concern.
