About the Trek

 

Har Ki Dun Trek is one of the most scenic and culturally rich trekking experiences in Uttarakhand, taking you deep into the beautiful Govind Pashu Vihar National Park. Often known as the “Valley of Gods,” Har Ki Dun is a cradle-shaped valley surrounded by magnificent Himalayan peaks, alpine meadows, dense forests, cascading streams and traditional mountain villages.

Your Har Ki Dun adventure begins early morning as you depart from Dehradun for Sankri, the gateway to the Har Ki Dun Valley.

The scenic drive takes you through the beautiful mountain landscapes of Uttarakhand, passing through Mussoorie region, Purola, Mori and the scenic Tons Valley. As you leave the plains behind, the landscape gradually transforms into dense forests, winding mountain roads and picturesque Himalayan villages.

The journey itself is an experience, offering beautiful views of valleys, rivers, forests and traditional hill settlements along the way.

On arrival at Sankri, check into your accommodation and relax after the long mountain drive. Sankri is a popular trekking base and serves as the starting point for several Himalayan treks.

Spend the evening preparing for the trek, checking your equipment and enjoying the peaceful mountain surroundings.

After breakfast, begin your journey towards Taluka, the roadhead for the trek. The short mountain drive takes you through beautiful forested landscapes.

From Taluka, the trekking trail begins along the Supin River. The route passes through dense Himalayan forests, small streams, wooden bridges and scenic mountain landscapes.

As you continue walking, you gradually enter the beautiful villages and settlements of the Har Ki Dun valley. Depending on the operational route and campsite, the night stay may be arranged at Seema, Osla or a nearby campsite.

The trail offers an excellent introduction to the natural beauty and cultural character of the region.

After reaching the campsite, relax and enjoy the peaceful Himalayan surroundings.

After breakfast, begin the most anticipated section of your trek towards the magnificent Har Ki Dun Valley.

The trail continues through beautiful forests and gradually opens into wider Himalayan landscapes. You will cross streams and bridges while following the valley towards the high-altitude meadows.

As you gain altitude, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. The dense forest gradually gives way to open landscapes, alpine meadows and magnificent mountain views.

The surrounding peaks and ridges create a spectacular backdrop as you approach Har Ki Dun.

Upon reaching the Har Ki Dun Valley, take time to admire the breathtaking surroundings and capture memorable photographs.

Wake up to the spectacular Himalayan scenery surrounding Har Ki Dun.

After breakfast, spend the day exploring the beautiful valley and its surroundings. Depending on weather, trail conditions and local permissions, you may enjoy short hikes around the valley or explore nearby viewpoints.

The valley offers magnificent views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and alpine landscapes. On a clear day, the views towards the Swargarohini massif are particularly impressive.

This is also a perfect opportunity to slow down, enjoy the peaceful environment, photograph the landscape and experience the tranquillity of the Himalayas.

Your trek leader will decide the day's activities according to weather, trail conditions and group safety.

After breakfast, begin your descent from Har Ki Dun and retrace the scenic trail towards Seema / Osla.

Although you are following the same route, the descending journey offers a completely different perspective of the landscape. Enjoy views of the river valley, forests, mountain slopes and surrounding peaks.

Depending on the itinerary, you may also get an opportunity to visit or explore Osla village and experience its distinctive traditional Himalayan architecture and local culture.

After reaching the campsite, relax and enjoy your final evening in the beautiful Har Ki Dun region.

Be Cautious on Snow & Ice

Carry Essential Medication

Be Mindful of AMS

Transportation Policy

Please note that AC may not be operational during travel in hilly and mountainous regions due to road conditions, weather and vehicle operating requirements. If you require AC during specific sections of the journey, you may coordinate directly with the driver. Additional charges may apply where applicable.

Booking Policy

Advance Payment:
A minimum of 30% advance payment is required to confirm your booking.

The remaining balance must be paid before the trek begins.

Booking Confirmation:
Once the required payment is received, you will receive a booking confirmation along with the relevant trek details.

Trek permits, transportation, accommodation and other arrangements will be processed according to the applicable booking terms.

Rescheduling:
Rescheduling is permitted only once and must generally be requested at least 7 days before the scheduled trek start date.

A rescheduling fee may apply depending on the circumstances and availability.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by the Trekker:

  • 30+ days before the trek: 90% refund of the total amount.
  • 15–30 days before the trek: 50% refund of the total amount.
  • Less than 15 days before the trek: No refund.
  • No refund will be issued for any booking amount below ?500.

 

Cancellation / Modification by Divintra Holidays:

In case of unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather conditions, natural disasters, government restrictions, trail closures or other circumstances beyond our control, Divintra Holidays reserves the right to cancel, postpone or modify the trek itinerary.

Where applicable, an alternative date, trek option or voucher may be offered depending on the circumstances and availability.

No Refund for Unused Services:

No refund will be provided for any service included in the package but voluntarily not availed by the trekker, including meals, transportation, accommodation or other inclusions.

Dropout During the Trek:

If a participant voluntarily leaves the trek due to personal reasons, no refund will be provided for the unused portion of the package.

Any additional expenses arising from evacuation, transportation, accommodation or early exit will be borne by the participant.

Important: Actual cancellation, refund and rescheduling terms should always be aligned with the final booking terms displayed at the time of reservation.
